Abbotsford, British Columbia
How did you discover your talent? What got you started?
I think the moment in my life when I discovered my talent was when I was 13 years old. I just bought my first Gopro, and I was so stoked to get out hiking and capture some photos of my adventures. I had posted one of my pictures on my Instagram account, and GoPro saw it and asked if I would be interested in selling it to them. From that moment onward, I was captivated by the love of photography, especially since other people enjoyed my art.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A geologist, haha, use to love collecting rocks.
Who was your biggest inspiration?
The photographers in the old National Geographic Magazines
What makes you keep innovating and pushing your craft to new heights? What’s the intrinsic driver or motivation?
Honestly, I don’t know; I’m just in love with that feeling you get when you climb a new peak or when I capture that one image.
So far, what has been your favorite highlight of your career? An achievement? A collaboration?
That’s a hard one. Every new trip or collaboration I have is a new highlight and a new experience that tops the last one.
In regards to your craft, where do you want to be in 5 or 10 years?
In the next ten years, my goal is to be one of the best photographers in the world. I want to be able to capture photos of locations that 99.99% of the world will never get the chance to witness
Switching gears a bit… what do you think about the existing grab-and-go drink options out there? Are people ready for healthier alternatives? or will “Big Sugar” continue to dominate the landscape? (I.e. Energy Drinks, high caffeine, high sugar drinks)
I can definitely see the shift to healthier “ energy drinks.” Personally, I find a big majority of the grab-and-go drink options out there make me feel terrible after I drink them.
How does Wize iced tea fit into your current lifestyle? And why do you choose Wize?
Wize Ice tea is honestly the only thing that keeps me going, haha. When I’m out in the backcountry climbing mountains or on the road driving to my next destination, I’m always reaching for that can of drink Wize to give me that little boost. And the reason I enjoy drinking drink Wize compared to other energy drinks because it’s the healthiest option out there, and it tastes delicious.
What are your next projects coming down the pipeline?
As of right now, I’m planning on continuing to explore my beautiful backyard in British Columbia. But as soon as the world opens back up, I’ll be heading over to Europe and Asia to spend a few months climbing and exploring.
What’s your favorite flavor of Wize? When do you typically drink it?
Mango, and usually before or after a hike or when I’m just chilling at home editing photos.
